Alcohol Intervention and Drug Intervention

For those seeking drug or alcohol detox for a loved one who is resistant towards stopping, the best thing to consider is an alcohol intervention or as we call them – Sober Interventions. This is the most loving method to assist someone towards giving up alcohol. The drug or alcohol intervention allows the afflicted person the opportunity to see for themselves the damage they are causing themselves, their family and friends and to be confronted lovingly towards changing their habits.

Drug and alcohol intervention is the skill of helping people accept help before they have fully expressed a desire to change.

Some (but not all) drug and alcohol interventions involve getting family and friends to gather together to confront the addicted person. This is rarely an angry confrontation, but although emotions do run high, our experience is that there is much more love and concern expressed than anger. It is the love and concern that are the effective ingredients here.

With every other mental health problem there is an understanding that families often need to step in and direct a sufferer towards appropriate help, even though they may not want to admit they need help. Addictive illness is exactly the same.

No alcohol interventions or drug interventions should be undertaken without advice and Sober Coaching from one of our Sober Interventionist’s who are highly experienced in the intervention process.
